A NEW MODEL IN NATURE BASED EDU-TAINMENT
The Open Ocean Group fulfils a unique role in the world of biology and terrestrial media – collating rather than acquiring, the largest media archive in the world. These are often personal archives, that go untouched and unused. A collection of individual resources has a far stronger story telling power together, than it does alone. The larger, both our direct and indirect network, the stronger we become in everything we are trying to achieve.
INSPIRATION
The Ocean holds about 97% of the world’s water and supports 90% of the planet’s biosphere. They supply most of our oxygen and one-third of the world’s food, yet these resources are dwindling due to human actions.
It’s imperative to recognise the urgency of preserving and restoring our oceans. Our goal is to have as big an impact in changing this as we can. Our early projects are just the start…
COLLECTIVE
In this modern era with the challenges of individuals both generating revenue and an audience, surely joining forces is the way to go?
Our stories have the ability to become a shared contributory effort. In following the lifecycle of a reef crab, the larval stages can be documented by one contributor, scenic B roll another, feeding another, and the eventual demise another. Not many have the ability to tell rich collaborative stories in this way…

One of the most exciting aspects of our Open Ocean Group, is the fact it allows for and encourages collaboration, growth and diversification. Within our framework, we can lend our hand to, or start any relevant projects, brands, charities or companies we deem appropriate.

By combining such a large resource, and exploiting it to its fullest potential, we aim to grow a set of stand alone companies, that will have a truly global impact.
Our mission is to create projects that individually excel in their goal, be it social media efforts growing a following, or Up and Under drone work furthering plankton research.
