WHAT WE DO
STORY LED, TECHNOLOGY BACKED
stories
Storytelling is a cornerstone of our team’s expertise. We excel in weaving narratives that stem from personal experiences, scientific engagements, and compelling content designed to inspire and captivate. Whether the depths of the deep sea, the fluorescent world of nocturnal coral reefs, or showcasing the vibrant blue community on the water’s surface, our stories have the unique ability to both entertain and educate any audience that witnesses them.
technology
Without technology, these stories lose their relevance. Technology is the key in creating the perfect environment in which to fully view and take in these stories. Immersion is key; when an audience is fully immersed within a story, they are more likely to take home the key messages. Our team is well experienced in creating these experiences to truly capture the essence of the environment the story originates from.
PROJECT BASED
All work is based on projects, allowing diverse avenues for sharing and engaging audiences. Adaptability is intrinsic to a digital approach, allowing any efforts to be tailored to the distinct needs of each project. Whether it’s immersive media experiences, interactive displays, or fully functioning venues, versatility and experience will help drive meaningful impact in terms of education and entertainment.
CONNECTING OUR OCEANS
The underwater world often stays distant from the public eye, with countless stories left untold and unseen. We aim to change that narrative by showcasing these stories through tourism, media, and every sector they rightfully belong in…
A DIFFERENT FOCUS TO MOST...
Refresh-ability in content and displays material
A technology led systems and display approach to edu-tainment
Adaptability in both content material and displays
When an audience is immersed, the message gets through
Focused on low cost, high engagement solutions
SOME OF OUR KEY AREAS OF WORK
VENUE CREATION
Be it our own Ocean Surface Centre programme, or our team assisting in the launch and running of another venue – our team has the experience, resource and knowledge to help in any of aspect from content production, to scientific information support. Our efforts, team and resource is ever growing meaning that we have the ability to provide ongoing support and contribution to any venue across the world.
DISPLAYS - CONTENT AND TECHNOLOGY
Whilst the content and material held in our archive are key to our projects (and our partners projects), without the appropriate technology to tell the stories in a way that engages, enthuses and inspires an audience, it is rendered useless. Our team has years of experience in the relevant aspects of science, content, production and technology of which to launch successful display programmes.
CONSULTATION IN NATURE EDU-TAINMENT
For any aspect of natural history education or entertainment services, or the cutting edge display technology of which to share these stories, our team either has the personal expertise to assist, advise and consult – or through The Open Ocean Group team, know the relevant individual or organisation to assist.
venue Systems support
Whilst we specialise in the content aspect of natural history media, we are involved with venues at every scale. Our own tech-hub and archive allows us to support the systems operations of venues remotely, or directly engage in system re-designs and day to day running of venues.
content creation and capture
Our archive, currently boasting over 360+ hours of material and near 300,000 photos isn’t full just yet. Our contributor network, based across the world, are constantly capturing and producing new content so as to make sure any project we are involved in holds an ability to refresh, adapt and improve its displays at a rate unlike any other…
organisation collaboration
Based off our teams past work spanning over 50+ years, The Open Ocean Group is well connected across near every ocean and nature based industry. As a result, many of our projects will be highly collaborative endeavours and we are constantly working to develop new initiatives and projects that will further our mission.
